Is plain, inexpensive cod liver oil at walmart a good source of omega 3 oil or is creel oil better?
st. johns wort, is that good for me, too?
I’ve bought and used both the Wal-mart fish oil pills and the GNC stuff, and found that the important thing is not price or brand name, but content. Fish oil pills should have Omega-3 fatty acids from EPA and DHA. It should also be (and all fish oil pills in the U.S. most likely are) mercury-free.
I take between 1200mg to 2400mg per day, but usually just 1200mg. I’ve found that after 10 months of starting on fish oil (and eating healthy, of course), my bad cholesterol went from slightly above average to well below the average, and my good cholesterol was at an average level.

PS~ I’m not really sure about St. John’s Wort…I don’t take it, but I’ve only heard good things about it. I imagine it can’t be harmful to add it as a daily supplement, but you may want to do research on it or consult a nutritionist.
