What temperature are 600D and 1200D blankets good for?
I am looking at 600D and 1200D blankets.I was wondering what temperature each one is best for.My horse is an unclipped QH and doesn’t loose weight without a blanket.
Lyla is right. D stands for denier, which is a thread count measurement, which equates to how rip-proof the blanket will be. Always go for the highest number you can, preferably 1200D. The warmth of the blanket will be measured in “grams” of fill or polyfill.
Your horse probably doesn’t need a blanket at all, and if you do get one, make sure it is not a heavyweight one. Go for a light or medium weight, with 200 grams of fill or less. You also want to make sure it’s waterproof and breatheable if it’s going to be a turnout blanket.
