Why is Fibromyalgia classified as a syndrome and not a disease???

Syndrome is almost a synonym for disease. Fibromyalgia syndrome(FMS) is also called fibromyalgia and was previously known as fibrositis. The name was changed because FMS is now understood to be a chronic pain syndrome, not an inflammatory disease.
If your angle is that syndrome has some sort of negative connotations, then you are mislead. Syndrome is the combination of signs and symptoms associated with a particular morbid process, which together constitute the picture of a disease or inherited anomaly.
