Can you make scented oils for soap and candle making from household spices, like vanilla,cinammon,almond etc.?
I would like to try and make scented oils from spices I have in my home if you can.
Not real easy. they have to be “dissolved” or emulsified in an oil first.
Oils of most scents can be purchased at a reasonable price (usually). Avoid “aromatherapy oils” which are pricey.
Check for them at Wal-mart, Dollar stores, or even old time pharmacies (we used to use those oils to make candy).
I understand there are places to order on-line – “Candle making supplies”.
