How To Use Rose Water To Fix Dry Skin And Uneven Skin Tone
Have you ever wondered why so many people use rose water to wash their face? Rose water is actually beneficial in maintaining even-tone skin and supple skin. It is one of the most effective remedies in alleviating skin dryness.
The extract of rose petals is a natural astringent. It can help get rid of dirt and grime on the surface of your skin. If your skin is a little sensitive to chemical astringent, you can always try rose astringent.
There are also a lot of rose extract products sold in the market. However, not all of them are made from 100% pure rose oil or essence. Because rose oil is a natural ingredient, some manufacturing companies include additives and parabens to prolong the shelf life of these products.
Instead of buying those products, why don’t you try making your own? The following steps are the modified steps of Rosemary Gladstar’s procedures in creating rose water:
Step 1: Prepare all the necessary ingredients such as fresh rose petals, alkaline water and a handful of ice cubes.
Step 2: Get a large pot and put it on your stove. Add the flower petals and pour alkaline water. I like to use alkaline water because it is made up of smaller molecules. It can infuse more water to the rose petals, thereby extracting more essence.
Step 3: Turn the stove on and set it up to medium heat settings. Place the lid of the pot. Allow it to simmer but do not let it boil.
Step 4: If the heat of the water is starting to rise, add ice cubes or crushed ice to lower down the temperature of the water.
Step 5: Allow this to continue simmering for 30 minutes. You can lift the lid after 15 minutes or so check the water. If it is starting to smell fragrant and rosy, remove the pot out of the stove.
Step 6: Let the rose water cool down before placing it in a small bottle.
This treatment is best combined with a good anti aging moisturizer. You should also look for a moisturizer with natural ingredients such as Phytessence Wakame and Manuka Honey.
Phytessence Wakame is a kind of sea kelp with the ability to prevent the sudden loss of hyaluronic acid. This is the acid that is needed by the dermis for the proper moisturization of collagen fibers. When collagen fibers are well-lubricated, you become less susceptible to wrinkles and uneven skin tone.
Manuka honey contains minerals and vitamins that can improve the core functions of the dermis. It also locks moisture in dermis tissues.
