What’s a really good vanilla perfume/oil?
I just need a sweet fragrance that smells only of Vanilla, nothing else.
Any suggestions?
For a quick retail fix, the Body Shop’s Vanilla is definitely your best bet. It is a fresh, sweet vanilla with nothing extra. Most lower-end versions have been bogged down by the whole “warm vanilla sugar” trend – too much musk, not enough vanilla. The body spray is around $15.

There is also a company called Yves Rocher that has a great straight-up vanilla. Your can order online from yvesrocher.com. The fragrance is called Organic Vanilla, and is a nice straight-up bourbon vanilla. I love this one, plus its only $12

Then you have your higher-end retail perfumes. Sephora carries a brand called LaVanilla and they have several different versions of perfume with vanilla. Their Pure Vanilla perfume is just a soft, uncomplicated vanilla. This one will set you back around $60, but will last you a lot longer than the previous two I mentioned, as it comes in a larger bottle. Definitely worth the $60.

The comes the holy grail of all vanillas, the creme de la creme of the vanilla bean: Indult Tihota perfume. This one is a pure and sweet vanilla that is absolute perfection. The problem is that this baby will cost you $250!!!! But luckily, there is a store on ebay called “cherryblossomdiva” that has a great duplicate oil of this fragrance, and it smells exactly like it! It is called Indulgence and is only $9 for the oil! This is a steal, I think!
