Is there anyone out there who lives in West Virginia and loves it?
Everyone that I talk to (in my age group, at any rate) who lives in WV (where I live as well) absolutely hates it. The common complaints: There’s nothing to do there, it’s boring, and too slow.
Personally, I love WV! I love the mountains (actually, I went to Illinois once and had a panic attack because it was too flat) and all of the possibilities with the wide open and peaceful land.
Anyone else feel the same way?
I don’t know how old you are or anything, but I’m turning 21 tomorrow and I love West Virginia. I was born and raised here and I’m extremely thankful to be a West Virginian. A lot of younger people don’t appreciate all the beauty and exciting things this state has to offer. If people think WV is boring, it is because they haven’t gotten out and experienced all the adventure this state has to offer. I would much rather be in WV living in the clean air and environment then shoved in a dirty, smoggy city that is “cool” because there is a mall here, a restaurant there, and a movie theatre right next to it.
I’ve been to flat places before too and it was just weird. I went to New Mexico last year and even though the desert was very interesting, I just couldn’t get over the fact that there was no grass or mountains all around me.
Be proud to love WV because this state is filled with tradition and excitement that only true West Virginians can understand and appreciate. =)
