Germ Guardian UV-C It kills Germs by penetrating through its cell walls. Is it good for humans?
The company claims it is used in Hospitals also. If it can penetrate Germ cells easily, is it not that it also penetrates the body cells and the human body happens to have different types of cells. Will the UV-C rays not penetrate and change them too? Its a concern as changing cell means its Cancer like. May be is this product silently contributing to the Cancer cause in the US and other places where it is used? How do we know which Air Purifier is good for the health. For short term, they all must be cleaning the air, but for the long run, how do we know that we are using the correct product? My 4 year old had 9 times flu this year. He had a Swine Flu also and managed to get better. This year is bad with the flu outbreak although the house is clean and we have good hand washing habits.
First of all, your concerns about the flu are managed by good hygiene. The problem is when you leave your home and are exposed to many who don’t practice good hygiene. The flu viruses are not airborne, they are transferred by mucous. Your air purifier is not going to do anything for the flu virus. Air purifiers are excellent for removing particles and, if they are equipped with an ultra-violet light, killing airborne viruses.
