Has your shop got too much empty space?
Furniture showrooms boomed a decade ago in North Carolina’s furniture market towns, but property managers say the market has now got too many sales floors. It becoming a growing problem in our retail sector that too many businesses have too much space dedicated to sales floors and not enough space dedicated to displaying their own products.
It would be hard to tell whether the excess sales floor space is a problem for the global economy until it improves so then we really can tell the difference. Regardless of shop room floors we need to dedicate more thought and consideration as to how our shop floors are set up. We need to be attracting customers with as many products as possible on the shop front in order to try and encourage sales. For example having a showroom with one bedside table in it is not exactly beneficial for your business however if you had your entire showroom floor littered with various bits of furniture you may find that your business conversion rates are slightly higher. It is all about proper displays. People are more reluctant to spend money on the high street now so now is the most important time to get your shop looking better than everyone else’s. One report said that they may even be over one million square feet of vacant showroom space across Britain which is absolutely incredible to try and comprehend.
Unfortunately, it is more the style to have your shop with nothing in it. It is deemed as pretentious but still shop owners prefer to have their store empty and ‘sleek’. Maybe it gives off the impression that the shop is higher class and fancy but I’m sure it won’t be doing your conversions any favours what so ever. In my opinion you need to have your shop floor full and ready to go. Customer want to see produce and not empty space, so help the economy and get that empty sales floor space filled up!
