A Few Important Considerations Relating To Southern Cooking Recipes
Southern cooking is known for its varied and delicious recipes. Southern cooking recipes alter as specified in the area , for example Cajun cuisine is famous in southern Louisiana, BBQ in Texas and such like. Kentucky recipes and African-American recipes are also part of Southern cooking. These cuisines include deep fried chicken, seafood, pies, stakes and so on. Jambalaya recipe is a very famous southern cooking recipe, and it falls under Cajun cooking. Rice is the most important ingredient of these recipes, and other ingredients include two tbsp butter, one cup chopped finely onion, half cup thinly chopped green pepper, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/4th spoon ground black pepper, half pound smoked sausage, 3 cups canned tomatoes, one cup raw white rice, 2 cups chicken broth, half tsp dried leaf thyme, one tbsp cut fresh parsley, two cups sliced cooked chicken, one cup chopped cooked ham, half tsp chilli powder and 2 tsp salt.
Heat the stove to 350 degree F. Melt some butter in a large iron skillet and add onions, green pepper, and garlic, and sauté lightly. Cook until onion is tender and then add sausage, ham and pieces of chicken pieces. Cook for 5 mins and stir now and then, and then add tomatoes, broth, parsley, rice and thyme. Splatter some chilli powder and add pepper and salt as per your taste. Put the whole preparation in an enormous casserole, cover and put it in the range. Bake till rice turns tender which might take almost an hour. This southern cooking recipe will surely delight everyone at home.
Another delicious southern cooking recipe includes macaroni and cheese. You want half cup raw elbow macaroni, 2 cups milk, 3 tbsp butter, 3 whisked egg yolks, one cup soft bread crumbs, 1/4th cup red bell peppers, 2 tsp cut parsley, 2 cups shredded processed cheddar cheese, quarter th cup thinly sliced green pepper, one tbsp rasped onion and 3 egg whites.
Cook the macaroni in boiling water. Take a big saucepan and add butter, cheese and milk to it. Cook slowly and stir constantly over low heat till the cheese melts. Add some of this mixture to the egg yolk mixture and add it back to the hot preparation. Stir well and let the blend mix well. Add macaroni, whisk in green and red bell peppers with onions, parsley and breadcrumbs. Fold the beaten eggs into macaroni blend. Take a souffl dish and decant the mix into this dish. Bake it at 325 degrees for about an hour. Once the mixture sets, a delicious southern cooking recipe is prepared to be served.
