Do laptops emit less magnetic field than desktops?
Anyone no of a laptop with a low electo-magnetic field?
I suffer from `electromagnetic field sensitivity` symptoms after one hours desk top usage my are as follows chronic fatigue/watery eyes/lethargy/anxiety/feel surreal etc. which persist for the following 24 hrs. If I were to purchase a laptop and use it via the battery not the mains, but plug it into cable broadband would the magnetic field be reduced in comparison to my present desk top? Has this option worked for anyone else? comments most appreciated.
Bahazero I dont follow your staement `A typical desktop computer has a max power consumption of about 200W.. a laptop is around 45W. For power, it shouldn’t matter if it is plugged in or not because regardless of power source.. it will still draw the amount that it needs to function.` Surly there is les of a Magnetic field through a laptop as its a lower power consumption?
Yes, a laptop doesn’t have the power transformer that a desktop does.
So the magnetic field would be a lot lower, true. But I doubt this will have any physical effect on you.
