Autism- deep pressure and compression…(sensory issues)?
I am a 19 year old with autism. My mum teaches special ed and she got a compression vest for her kids. You put it on and stretch it really tight and velcro it on the side and it squeezes you. You know the kind? Maybe? I was just wondering if there is any way to make on of these? I am a great seamstress…. Also, does anyone know how I could make a weighted vest and/or a weighted blanket? I really like the feeling of weighted blankets, and I think that if I had one I could sleep much better, but they are just super expensive….
Same with the vest. I want one, but dont have the money to buy one. Has anyone ever seen any of these three made?

I love weighted blankets (I’m an aspie with SPD) and have always slept so much better with them; they are expensive though. I don’t know how much less it will cost to make one. I guess it just depends on the materials.

I don’t know how sensitive you are to sound but you might want to just add the beads without the plastic and/or use batting in the weight pockets to minimize the noise. I know I can’t stand the sound of plastic crumpling.

This is more for weight than compression but you could easily modify it to compress with Velcro if that’s what you want.
