will any of these natural herbs harm mother or unborn baby?
ingrediants: daytox:Creatine monohydrate burdock root, chamolie, licorice root, milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid, l-cysteine, peppermint leaf, ligusticum, fo ti, birch, leaf, wood betony, Riboflavin and propriety blend
Tesentials: Propriety blend, spirulona, blue green algae, chlorella, alfalfa leaf, siberian ginseng, slippery elm, schizandra berry, ashwuganda, gotu kola, pau d arco, rose hips, bl;adderwrack, hawthorn berry, burdock root, fo ti, licorice root, sarsasparilla, astragalus, red dulce, fennel seed, papaya leaf, suma root , gingko biloba, yellow duck
A number of those herbs should only be used with extreme caution (or are strictly contra-indiated) during pregnancy…
- chamomile (risk for miscarriage or early labour if taken in high doses)
- licorice root (risk for high blood pressure even at low-moderate doses)
- peppermint (may reduce milk flow)
- ligusticum (multiple toxicities, may have direct impact on fetus’ developing brain, small doses can stimulate contractions and large doses will halt them, thins the blood, etc!)
- birch (if this is wintergreen – again, multiple toxicities some of which are potentially fatal to the fetus)
- gotu kola (possible CNS toxicity)
- pau d’arco (possible teratogen ie: causes serious mutations in developing fetus)
Okay, I’ll not keep going. Suffice to say STOP TAKING THIS PRODUCT IF YOU’RE PREGNANT.
Furthermore, “detoxing” during pregnancy overall is a very (very) bad idea.
